As a Black, first-generation college graduate proficient in Japanese and in saving lives as a registered nurse, playfully exploring the world–artistically–to create raw yet beautiful work that uplifts underdogs in various societies, is what gets me out of bed every day. With teachings from world-class photographers such as Matthew Jordan Smith and Carmen Cheung and inspiration from artists like Virgil Abloh and Gordon Parks, I wield a camera to explore the world as an artist–simultaneously creating work that serves my surrounding communities. Primarily a lens-based artist, my work comes in additional synergistic forms such as coalition building and project design to maximize my power to help people.
